We arrived at Bangor Maine on 10 August 2026. We had an appointment scheduled with a mobile Repair guy to fix our leveling system on Tuesday morning. He ended up changing our right front jack stand and that fixed the problem. Over the next couple of days, we got other maintenance things done like haircuts and grocery shopping in Bangor. We went out to dinner on Thursday and were treated to a nice double rainbow when we walked out to go home. We had brought in umbrellas because rain looked imminent, but we didn't expect the sun while it was still raining.

On Friday 14 August we moved about 65 miles to Corea to spend the weekend with our friend Bitsy. The weather was gorgeous and Bitsy had found two festivals going on in the area that weekend. That night (Friday) after dinner we went to listen to a lecture by Archeologist Dr. Bonnie Newsom at the Hancock Historical Society. She spoke about the Wabanaki heritage, artifact analysis, and ancient marine resource use around the Gulf of Maine and Frenchman Bay. The Historical Society had a couple of shelves and boxes of free books, so we picked up a couple that Bitsy's read and recommended on Maine history.

On Saturday we went to the Blue Hill Maritime Heritage Festival. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the exhibits. We even saw a blue lobster! They're pretty rare, but it was the second one we've seen this summer.

Sunday we all went to mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherry Hill then on to the Blueberry Festival in Machias Maine. We were still low on reading material so we bought some books at the festival that were "bogo". We're stocked up now.
