Death Valley National Park (East) from Pahrump Nevada

On Monday 24 November 2025, we drove to Pahrump Nevada to stay at Pair-a-Dice SKP Park for a week.  We spent Thanksgiving there with other Escapees.  Our drive from Lone Pine California to Pahrump Nevada was through Death Valley National Park for much of the trip, so we stopped inside the park to have our lunch. Death Valley National Park (West) & Alabama Hills from Lone Pine CA

Thursday 20 November 2025, we drove to Lone Pine California which is west of Death Valley National Park.  We planned to stay there 4 nights as two of the days we were to be there had rain in the forecast.   We arrived in Lone Pine to temps in the high 40’s!  We got set up just before it started raining.  The rain wasn’t hard as we were on the edge of the system moving through.  On Friday 21 November, we stayed in in the morning and after lunch we drove to the Eastern Sierra I

California Coast, Pinnacles & Yosemite National Parks

On 13 November 2025 we arrived in Paicines California to stay at Thousand Trails San Benito.  We had set up in the rain the morning we left and it was raining when we arrived.  Even though we left the rain forests of Washington and Oregon, we have had record-setting rain in California.  We lucked out on Friday 14 November when we drove out to Monterey Bay CA to see the coast.  We had sunshine for our drive from Monterey Bay all the way to Big Sur where a landslide closed the

Lassen Volcanic National Park

We arrived in Redding California on 11 November 2025 for two nights. That left us one day for seeing Lassen Volcanic National Park. On 12 November we drove 50 miles from our campground to Lassen Volcanic National Park. About 15 miles into the drive we saw a sign for the park, but with another sign "CLOSED" on it. We kept going since that was all we had planned for the day. To our surprise there was a park ranger at the gate when we arrived. She said she's only allowed t

California Redwoods

We drove about 200 miles to Klamath California to stay at Kamp Klamath RV Park for a week.  We arrived on 4 November 2025.  The forecast showed rain for the first three days of our stay.  As a matter of fact, we set up in the rain when we arrived.  We’re still in a rain forest, so the dank atmosphere is expected, but we are both ready to leave the rain forest.  Our campground is within a couple of miles of the Pacific Ocean and even closer to the Klamath River which feeds int

Oregon Makes 49!

After we stayed in our first campground in Oregon, we have officially now camped in the 49 states we can drive to! That took three years. We left Maryland toward the end of October 2022. Now we will be seeing places we missed or that we want to see again. We're definitely more laid back about planning. We're just making reservations the day before we leave a place and it's working out well in making our way south. We arrived in Prospect Oregon to stay at Crater Lake RV P

The Oregon Coast

After 4 nights in Chimacum Washington, we drove 35 miles to Sequim WA on 23 October 2025 for our 10am service appointment on our Grand Design.   The outcome was replacing both back jack stands.  The parts had to be ordered but they were able to get them overnight, so we got the repairs done on Friday the 25 th  by noon and were on our way to Oregon that afternoon.  We got to Rainier Oregon around 5pm that evening.  The drive was slow going with rain all the way.  We stayed at

West Side of Olympic National Park

Our home 14-18 October 2025 We drove 98 miles from Chimacum Washington to Forks Washington on 14 October 2025.  We got set up and had our lunch by 1pm, so we ventured out to see the Hoh Rain Forest in the west end of Olympic National Park. We stopped at Peak 6 Adventure Store, a privately owned store/gift shop on the road to Hoh Rain Forest.  The lady there had lots of information about the area and she even knew where to see the Roosevelt elk.  There is a pasture field behin

Olympic National Park and Chimacum Washington

We arrived in Chimacum Washington on 30 September 2025.  The RV park is Evergreen Coho Escapee Park.  We are Escapees members and have our TX address through that membership along with our mail forwarding service.  Our plan was to stay in Chimacum for seven nights to see the northeast portion of Olympic National Park.  We accomplished that along with a few other site seeing daytrips.  We ended up extending our stay at Evergreen Coho Escapee Park for another week while Anita w
